Very Important Fireplace In White Carrara Marble, Known As "lion's Paw" Fireplace
A very important white Carrara marble fireplace, known as a "lion's paw" fireplace, in the Empire style, sculpted in the 19th century. Its hearth, with a cyma molding, rests on a frieze with projecting sides, supported by scrolled console-shaped uprights adorned with cascading leaves, set upon finely sculpted, clawed lion's paws. A few fine scratches and very small chips consistent with age are present. A custom-made Carrara marble floor slab can be supplied upon request. Its length at the body is 201 cm. The dimensions of its firebox are 152 cm wide and 87 cm high. You can visit our website: www.claudeaugustin.com
