A fine amaranth veneered desk. Veneered on all sides, it opens with a drop-front and two drawers. The shaped drop-front reveals a mahogany interior: six small drawers and a secret compartment. Leather top edged with gilt. Curved sides and back, cabriole legs with sabots. Stylized keyhole escutcheons. French polished. Circa 1750.
