Louis XIV Style Walnut Writing Desk, 19th Century, Périgord Origin
Superb small Louis XIV style table in solid walnut from the first half of the 19th century. It consists of a thick top with chamfered corners and a molded edge. The apron is fitted with a drawer. The four baluster-shaped legs and the stretcher are typical of the Louis XIV style. This table from the Périgord region is narrow enough to potentially serve as a console table. Some minor restorations: drawer. The three planks forming the top are joined with wedges and pegs. Very fine work originating from the Périgord region. The piece is entirely pegged. Length: 99.6 cm, Width: 58.8 cm, Height: 73.6 cm, Height under the apron: 59 cm
