Pendulum “with The Chariot Of Love” With A Pair Of Chandeliers “of Love”
Artist: Etienne Varrin Paris
A "Chariot of Love" clock with "Cupid" candlesticks. The bronze is signed "EV" by Étienne Varin, a renowned 19th-century Parisian clockmaker and bronze founder. The clock can be dated to around 1880. The movement is signed "Vincenti, gold medal 1855". The bezel and case back also bear the initials "EV". The numbers on the pendulum, movement, bezel, and the pristine dial are identical. In short, a piece of exceptional purity and authenticity. The bronze chasing is exquisitely fine, and the original gilding is in perfect condition. The marble base is un used condition in line with its age. The clock runs and chimes properly, and the candlesticks still have their original candle extinguisher. Pendulum dimensions: 43 x 44 x 13 cm. Candlestick dimensions: 55 x 24 cm. The pendulum runs and chimes properly and includes a silver bell, key, and pendulum.
