A Louis XVI period Parisian guillotine-style secretary desk in mahogany and gilt brass, resting on tapered legs ending in bronze sabots. The upper section opens with two glazed doors, revealing shelves. The central section features a drop-front writing surface, lined in leather (in good condition), revealing a compartmentalized interior of finely arranged drawers and niches. The lower section consists of stacked drawers, offering ample storage space. Beautiful gilt bronze ornamentation includes handles, keyhole escutcheons, moldings, and sabots. Locks are present. The desk is meticulously finished with a beautiful original patina.
