Italian Renaissance-style walnut bookcase, circa 1850. The front opens with two paneled and glazed doors decorated with tondo fruit motifs within stylized frames. The glass is visible on three sides with acid-etched details. The interior features a luxurious, gendarme-hat-shaped cornice with carved shell, dog's head, foliage, and other sculpted panels surmounted by croziers. It rests on toupie feet set beneath an overhanging cornice. The bookcase has undergone careful and high-quality restoration of the patina and interior lining. Dimensions: h238 x 128 x 50 cm
