Louis XV Style Bombe Display Cabinet – Napoleon III Period

Three-door Vernis Martin display cabinet,
France, second half of the 19th century (Napoleon III period),
crafted in the Louis XV style with serpentine lines
and a bombé (curved) profile on both the front and sides,
supported by four cabriole legs.
The exterior is clad in rosewood veneer
arranged in a herringbone pattern with a book-matched design.
The lower section features three panels
hand-painted using the Vernis Martin technique,
depicting gallant scenes set in pastoral landscapes.
Decorative mounts are made of chased and gilded bronze in Rococo style,
adorning the upper uprights, the borders of the painted panels, and the feet.
The interior contains two glass shelves and one fabric-lined wooden shelf,
creating a secure, enclosed display space.
The interior lining is in good, though not flawless, condition;
a quote for replacing the fabric with a material of your choice
is available upon request.
