An Art Deco period chandelier, in hammered wrought iron in the style of shagreen, with a central ceiling bowl and three tulip-shaped shades (one with a crack – see photo) in frosted pressed molded glass.
Bears the signature Negra on the bowl and the shades, Degué model no. 857 in the manufacturer's catalogue.
Electrified, working.

Founder and owner of the Degué Art Glass Company in Paris (1926-1939), David Guéron (1892-1950) created the Cristalleries de Compiègne in the early 1920s before settling in Paris in 1926, with a factory on Boulevard Malesherbes as well as a shop where he presented his creations at 41, Avenue de Paris in the 12th arrondissement of the Capital. Various signatures are affixed to the lighting glassware: in addition to the Degué signature, there are also the Roc, Negra, Rethondes... signatures
