Ivory Christ, 19th century. Christ is depicted "alive," with an expressive face, open eyes, and an upright body, detached from the sufferings of the Cross. A very fine sculpture. It is mounted on a gilded wooden cross within a beautiful carved gilded wooden frame with original gilding and an INRI plaque. The back is covered in a later red velvet. In very good condition. Dimensions of the Christ: height from crown to base: 17 cm; width: 14.5 cm
