"Louis XIV Period Marquetry Commode From The Dauphiné Region"
Louis XIV commode, known as the Mazarine commode, late 17th century, Dauphiné region. It features three serpentine-shaped drawers adorned with chased and gilded bronze mounts. The beautiful marquetry top is made of end-grain olive wood. The drawers are also veneered in olive wood, framed with ebony and lemonwood stringing. The sides are veneered in ash. Original bronze mounts, locks, and key. Restored with age and use, finished with French polish. In very good condition.
