Important and exquisite oval solid silver platter or tray by Puiforcat, in the "filets" pattern, a classic piece with its distinctive "recessed" borders in the 18th century style. Hallmarked with the French Minerva 1st Standard mark (.950) on the rim and back, and bearing the maker's mark of Emile Puiforcat (initials "EP" and a penknife), received in 1857, along with his full signature "Puiforcat". This important and exquisite Puiforcat platter is in very good condition, having been serviced and cleaned by our silversmith, with only minor scratches. See the attached photos for details...
