Very rare Diablotine Pocket Watch.End of the 19th century, 1870
The watch is equipped with a rare Duplex escapement with seconds in the center, the hand in the center beats half-second and the small at hours six per quarter second.
This type of movement is called Diablotine which means a rare and fascinating horological complication that allows to instantly and accurately visualize fractions of a second, with a needle that "jumps" from one notch to another like lightning.
Fabulous fully engraved golden brass movement.
White enamel dial with Roman numerals, original hands.
Excellent condition.
Equipped with a key for charge and adjustment.
Engraved silver case with landscape.
