Pair Of Andirons, American Or English Art And Craft Period
A very beautiful pair of Martelet wrought iron andirons, crafted with precision from the American or English Arts and Crafts period. These artistic wrought iron pieces were made and assembled entirely by hand, without any welding, and simply screwed together under the base. Very fine work demonstrating great mastery of metal, and made at the end of the 19th to the very beginning of the 20th century. In perfect condition, both in terms of preservation and use. These two pieces are generously sized, 51.5 cm long and 50.5 cm high. Very stable and heavy. Probably the work of an artist from that period, but one I have been unable to identify. Price €800.
