Turned Wooden Yarn Holder - Folk Art - 19th Century
Crafted by a master woodturning, resting on a wide flared base, this yarn holder is made from various wood species, assembled by gluing and then turned on a lathe.
A ball of yarn is placed at the top of the object.
The upper section is pivoting, rotating around the axis of a screw.
A series of holes allows knitting needles to be inserted.
Very good overall condition; a minor loss is visible beneath the base, as shown in the photograph.
