Louis XVI Period Embroidery Case
A low-grade gold case, retested with the crab test.
It includes a pair of scissors, a file-forming pliers, and a flexible awl.
The pointed scissors were intended for embroidery.
The clasps and rings are honeycomb-shaped and marked inside with the letter K, the maker's mark, and the letter S on the blades, an old assembly mark.
The steel pliers have two gold discs, also serve as a file, and end in a hook.
The sheath is entirely enameled in turquoise blue.
It features garlands of gold and silver flowers and is decorated with the words "Souvenir d'Amitié" (Memory of Friendship) and a flower-filled vase.
