Cornelius Wouter BOUTER (1888-1966) Drinker, oil on panel, signed C Willems, 20x16cm, 31x27cm framed. Cornelis Bouter was born in 1888 in Gouda, the Netherlands. He specialized in painting traditional Dutch scenes, both domestic interiors and landscapes. Bouter is known by several pseudonyms, including C. Verschuur, C. Willems, and C. Hendriks. He lived primarily in the Netherlands, between The Hague and Voorburg, although he also traveled and spent time in the United States and Canada.
