"west Germany" Ceramic Vase

This German ceramic vase from the second half of the 20th century comes from the Uebelacker Keramik factory.
Johann Uebelacker founded a foundry in 1909. He quickly diversified his business, venturing into the production of earthenware, terracotta, and glazed ceramics.
Upon his death in the 1950s, his three sons took over the business.
This period, from the 1950s to the 1980s, marks the golden age of German decorative ceramics.
This vase embodies all the characteristics of this era: a classical shape and rich glazing, the colors of which varied depending on the production site.
Almost all the pieces bore a two-part number on the base: the model number followed by another indicating the size. Ours bears the model number 946 followed by 20, indicating that it is 20 cm tall.
The base is a dark brown that lightens to an ochre tone, eventually blending into a creamy white mixed with gray.
The high-quality glaze is thick and creamy. Identifying the manufacturer, which can sometimes be difficult, was simplified by the presence of the original label, which our research has revealed dates from 1975.
Though not extremely rare, this vase is a pure product of the interesting period of post-war German production that appeals to many collectors.
