A very pretty and charming painting, both for its subject and its high quality, with the colors remaining remarkably fresh and vibrant. The artist's skillful execution is evident in the lively gaze and the beautiful spontaneity of the pose. The original giltwood frame is in excellent condition. An inscription on the back, from one of the previous owners, identifies the artist as Charles Fleury Laurent in Sèvres, 1872-1925. A very attractive piece, pleasing to the eye and a good size for a central placement above a piece of furniture. Dimensions with frame: 67 x 58.5 cm.
