Monumental Painting "landscape At Sunset" By Albert Zimmermann (1808-1888)

A vast, monumental Alpine landscape with a waterfall and a lake in the background. According to the original inscription on the back of the canvas, this is Lake Hintersee in the Bavarian Alps.
This museum-quality work was created in the 1850s by the renowned German landscape painter Albert (August Albert) Zimmermann (1808 Zittau – 1888 Munich).
The artist is very well documented in international literature and award databases. We also own another landscape by him, catalogued as number 392. Zimmermann studied at the Academies of Fine Arts in Munich and Dresden. In 1857, the Austrian government sent him as a professor to the Academy of Milan, where he taught until 1859. From 1860 to 1871, he worked at the Vienna Academy. In the early 1880s, he settled in Salzburg, then in Munich from 1885.
His works are featured in important private collections throughout the world as well as in public museums in Germany and Austria.

Dimensions: without frame, width 130 cm x height 94.5 cm; with frame, width 171 cm x height 136 cm.
Condition: very good condition, not relined, no paint loss or retouching. Hello
