An elegant small antique Japanese inrō, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century (Meiji/Taishō period). The cylindrical body is made of carved bone, finely decorated with an engraved and carved motif depicting birds among foliage, likely bamboo, a symbol of longevity and harmony in Japanese art. It is completed with its original cord and a small carved bird motif. Dimensions: 5.5 x 5 x 2 cm
