These rare 19th-century wall sconces, a pair made following Napoleon I's "Egyptian Campaign," are airy and ornate, mounted on a gilded copper tubular body. They majestically feature two chased bronze bobeches with elongated foliage that flows into the undulating movement. A rare and unique decorative element in the Neoclassical style, with caryatid heads supporting the candle holders. Demonstrative and ornamental, light and refined, these two lovely sconces from the era of Napoleon's conquests possess a true decorative appeal, as they are plated with bright gold and are in good condition. Original and unique, these are commissioned pieces of exceptional quality. A beautiful decorative element in very good condition with lovely gold leaf gilding.
