JAPAN - Edo Period (1603-1868). KABUTO composed of 62 brown lacquered wrought iron slats. THEHEN NO ANA (opening at the top) in copper and patinated copper with three tiers. SHIKORO (neck guard) with three tiers in textured brown lacquered iron and blue and orange silk braid. FUKIGAESHI (small fins) in glossy black lacquered iron (some missing) decorated with the Asakura clan mon in stamped and patinated copper. MABI SA SHI (visor) in wrought iron highlighted with a copper band engraved with foliate scrolls. Five-character signature engraved inside. Dimensions: 36.5 x 37.5 cm. Sold with the base.
