The Water Carrier - Marcel DEBUT (1864-1933) Orientalist bronze sculpture with multiple patinas. Depicting a man walking and carrying a jug on his shoulder with the aid of a stick. In his left hand, he holds steel tongs, and a gourd is attached to his belt. Signed on the base "Debut" and bears the inscription of the founder Charles Gautier "Ch. Gautier Bronzier". Very beautiful patina. In very good condition. Weight 12.5 kg. *Marcel Debut, French. Born March 27, 1865. Died in 1933. Sculptor of statuettes and genre subjects, painter of urban landscapes. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts under Thomas and Chapu as a sculptor, and under Boulanger and J. Lefebvre as a painter. He participated in the Salon des Artistes Français, of which he became a member, receiving an honorable mention in 1895.
