A large, oval silver-plated serving platter with a wide, molded rim highlighted by concentric bands, framing a slightly concave basin. The design is elegant, understated, and balanced, characteristic of high-quality pieces from the late 19th century. The rim is decorated with a finely executed engraved heraldic motif depicting a count's coronet. This heraldic design suggests a custom order, likely for a prestigious dinner service or for use at formal receptions. The platter is hallmarked on the underside; however, the hallmarks observed did not allow for the formal identification of the silversmith. It is in very good condition for an antique silver-plated piece, with a uniform patina, fine signs of use consistent with its age, and no significant deformation or damage.
