Oil on panel depicting the portrait of a clergyman holding a book. The figure is delicately painted within the trompe-l'oeil of an arched window above a double garland of foliage. The overall condition is good. A few very light touch-ups to the paint layer could be made if necessary. The slightly arched panel bears a handwritten inscription in German on the back, which I have been unable to fully decipher. German or Austrian school, late 18th century. Dimensions: 32 cm x 24 cm
