"A Rotating Bookcase-style Pedestal Table By Alphonse Giroux"
A very pretty pedestal table forming a rotating bookcase with a grisaille porcelain top depicting cherubs, painted by miniaturist Caroline Baily (1857-1946). Made by the Alphonse Giroux company, our piece bears a copper plaque beneath the top certifying its origin. The star-shaped top requires restoration, as does the rest of the piece, which needs some cabinetmaking work. Despite this, it remains a testament to the refinement of that era.
