Parthenay 1749-50, Solid Silver Tastevin, Silversmith Jean Boutin
Extremely rare tastevin with the guarantee hallmark of the town of Parthenay. Charge and discharge hallmarks for the period 1750-1849. Hallmark of the master goldsmith Jean Boutin. The town museum still houses the guild plate of the goldsmiths of the Ancien Régime, which is quite rare. I have attached a photo. Goldsmiths were few in number in the town, and their pieces are rare on the art market.
