Stage drawing. Gouache on black vellum paper. Dimensions: 34.6 x 16 cm. The Songs of Maldoror by the Comte de Lautréamont, performed by the Ballets de Paris, sets and costumes by Yves Saint-Laurent, choreography by Roland Petit, music by Maurice Jarre, first presented at the Palais de Chaillot on December 15, 1962. This drawing should be compared with those exhibited at the Yves Saint-Laurent Foundation, which can be viewed on the foundation's website (photo attached for illustration).
