Bronze Roman Counter Scale - Italian Style - Stamped Mdcv

Beautiful polished bronze Roman counter scale.
Italian manufacture from the 1940s in Tuscany, inspired by a 17th-century model, hence the stamp MDCV (1605).
The elegant frame is decorated with scrolls.
At its end is a hook supporting the weighing mechanism (graduated arm, pan, and weight).
The hexagonal base contains sand or gravel to ballast the assembly and provide the necessary stability.
The product's mass is measured by moving the weight along the graduated arm until the scale is perfectly balanced.
Ideal for decorating a counter, display case, shop shelf, etc.
