A pivoting panel decorated with marquetry accommodates a shelf that was used to place a bedside lamp.
Very warm honey tone.
Probably dates from the end of the 19th century, according to the former owner who always saw it at her great-grandmother's house.
It is probably the transformation of a wardrobe door and a drawer, hence the somewhat curious proportions, as well as some machining.
We find dovetails on the pivoting part, as well as a groove in counterface. We can guess the traces of an old lock. It was a drawer.
The same on the back of the main part where we find a trace of a lock. It was originally a door.
Can be reused as a headboard for a child's bed, or transformed into any other arrangement (overmantel above a fireplace, etc.)
