Chinese Pedestal Cup From The Longquan Kilns
I am pleased to present a superb example of the famous celadon ware produced in the Longquan kilns in southwest Zhejiang province. The Longquan kilns have been renowned worldwide since the 10th century for the quality of their porcelain and their incomparable celadon glaze. The traditional firing technique of Longquan celadon has been inscribed on UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 2009. The footed bowl I am offering dates from the 17th century, at the end of the Ming Dynasty, and features a pure and very soft celadon green color. Lotus motifs are incised on the exterior of the bowl, and others are present on the interior. It is in perfect condition.
