"Korean Ido Ceramic Bowl. Joseon Dynasty"
Maksabal bowl with a conical shape used daily for eating rice or for drinking from. The surface of this bowl is irregular with a rough texture due to the use of sandy clay. The bowl rests on a small straight foot. The beige glaze is dotted with small black spots with a subtle crackled celadon band on the inner and outer rim. A few drops of this band descend towards the inside as well as the foot of the bowl. The potter's work on the wheel is visible by circles on the outside of the bowl representing the apposition of the potter's fingers. A small downward crack. This bowl is rare due to its provenance, age and quality. For informed collectors.
