Pair of Italian blue and white earthenware salt cellars in the shape of boats, resting on flared bases. An "S" adorns the center. Italy, 17th century. Length: 12.3 cm (4 7/8"). Condition: Minor chips. See the Victoria and Albert Museum's "C.29-1923" collection for a similar salt cellar donated by Alfred Williams Hearn.
