"Cardboard Box, Stamped Claude-charles Saunier, France, Circa 1790"
Rare and exquisitely elegant, this cabinet, made around 1780 in France and stamped by the renowned cabinetmaker Claude-Charles Saunier (1735-1807), is a two-door mahogany piece. It rests on tapered legs with gilt-bronze sabots and is topped with a refined white marble slab. The doors and sides are paneled and adorned with a superb burr veneer. Inside, hinged drawers, lined with leather and tapestry, offer ample storage space. Delicate brass handles complete the refined design. A remarkable piece of historical furniture and a collector's item, it is both highly functional and a superb example of late 18th-century French craftsmanship.
