Biedermeier-style Mahogany Writing Desk, Circa 1830
Large Biedermeier-style writing desk with profiled apron, rounded corners and three lower drawers. Above are a writing surface with flat flap and an upper drawer. The upper part features a single door beneath a molded cornice flanked by columns and a profiled pediment. The interior features numerous small drawers arranged around a central lockable tabernacle-shaped compartment, flanked by columns and adorned with delicate maple wire inlays.
