Important Napoleon III period mantel clock set, comprising a central clock in black marble and bronze, accompanied by two large matching cassolettes. – The clock is adorned with patinated brass bas-reliefs depicting neoclassical scenes. – The base is richly decorated, with gilt bronze feet and a dial with Roman numerals. – The two imposing cassolettes have ornate lids, figurative relief decoration, and side handles. A very fine 19th-century French work, in an imposing and decorative style. An ideal piece for a living room, library, or mantelpiece. Clock dimensions: h32 x 44 x 20 cm. Cassolette dimensions: h68 cm. Condition: Good overall condition, with signs of wear consistent with age.
