Boulle Marquetry Secretary Desk, With Mother-of-pearl And Brass Decoration, Napoleon III Style.
DESCRIPTION / Lady's secretary desk in ebonized wood and Boulle-style marquetry with brass stringing and marquetry à la reine in brass and mother-of-pearl on the front. Gilt bronze mounts. It opens with a drop-front to reveal a theater-style writing surface with two small drawers and a top. New leather from the FEY firm in Paris will be fitted; the color will be determined with the buyer. Four drawers are also present, but two of the four locks are no longer functional. A white marble top is currently being restored by my stonemason and will be available soon.
