Urushi lacquered bakingo decorated with a Hoho (phoenix) relief in gold powder on a roiro (black) ground. Details in red lacquer, gold mosaic (kirikane), and mother-of-pearl (aogai). Japan, Meiji-Taisho period, early 20th century. Good condition, with a few minor losses to the edges, visible in the photos. Aventurine (nashiji) interior. No restoration. 245mm x 100mm.
