English Extendable Mahogany Table From The Second Half Of The 19th Century.
Artist: Joseph Fitter
A large and elegant extendable table from the second half of the 19th century, circa 1870-1890, crafted entirely from solid mahogany. It features a large oval-shaped top with rounded edges and a smooth band underneath, complete with a small round frame. It is supported by five large legs, equipped with casters for easy opening and extension, including one in the center that provides stability when opened. The crank opening mechanism (see photo) has a brass label attached to the mechanism for Joseph Fitter, allowing for extremely easy opening and closing. There are four extension leaves (see photo), one of which is made of solid mahogany, like the top, should you wish to leave it larger than its standard size, thus ensuring a uniform and uniform tabletop. The table is in completely original condition in all its parts, as is its mechanism, and the listed price includes restoration work carried out in our workshop. If you are interested in purchasing it without restoration, please contact us to discuss a price.
