Object description :

"End Of IV Bc Bell Crater, Apulian Workshop."
Rare large red-figure bell krater (H: 29.3 cm). Magna Graecia. This krater comes from an Apulian workshop dating to the late 4th century BC (authenticated by D. Lebeurrier, archaeological expert).
The first side depicts a standing woman presenting a large platter to Eros Thanatos, seated on rocks and holding a mirror and a tambourine.
The other side shows two beardless men standing opposite each other. Radiating palmettes are painted beneath the handles. The scene is framed by a band of laurel leaves and a band of meanders.

This ancient artifact shows signs of old restorations that do not detract from the delicacy of the motifs.
