"Kilim Cuval Gaziantep - Anatolia. Circa 1880. 130 X 108 Cm"
A very pretty Cuval (open) originating from Gaziantep in southeastern Anatolia. True works of art, Cuvals were actually used for transporting and storing grain. Everyday objects, their refinement has always amazed me... Woven and embroidered wool on wool using traditional methods. The extremely fine weave makes the piece supple and lightweight. The plant-based colors are remarkably fresh; they have survived a century and a half without losing their vibrancy and brilliance. Beautifully harmonious, circa 1880. Perfect condition! Dimensions: 130 x 108 cm. Laurent, Beauty of Kilims
