Mar Del Plata Perfume Box In Gold And Silver Metal, Signed Delettrez In 1910.

A rectangular silver-plated metal box, decorated with a pair of mermaids and a seabed scene featuring seahorses, starfish, octopuses, etc.
The edges and small feet are highlighted with friezes of seaweed stamped on brass, contrasting with the silver plating on the sides. This box was created to present the "Mar Del Plata" perfume bottle on a satin lining.
Circa 1910.
Titled on the lid in capital letters "DELETTREZ PARIS." Engraver: A. Grandhomme, goldsmith and medalist, signed on two sides at the bottom.
Length: 13 cm – depth: 7 cm – height: 5.5 cm.

An identical box containing the rare Mar Del Plata perfume bottle was sold for €32,500 at Drouot on November 26, 2018, by the auction house "Varenne Enchères."
