Pine stools designed by René Martin, nicknamed "René the Scissors." A renowned cabinetmaker, he collaborated with Charlotte Perriand on her ski resort design projects in Les Arcs and Méribel, in the French Alps. The four-legged base with round legs supports a thick, circular seat, all made of solid pine. A clean and functional design that reflects René Martin's refined craftsmanship and the modern aesthetic of the mid-century. Provenance: Méribel, circa 1965
