Bronze Equestrian Monument To Bartolomeo Colleoni, By Andrea Del Verrocchio

This imposing sculpture is inspired by the famous "Equestrian Monument to Bartolomeo Colleoni," a large bronze statue located in Campo dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo in Venice, created by Andrea del Verrocchio between 1480 and 1488. One of the most famous equestrian monuments in Italy, it depicts the condottiero Bartolomeo Colleoni on horseback, a Renaissance masterpiece. The condottiero wears elaborate armor, and his steed has an ornate bridle and saddle, highlighted by the excellent carving of our sculpture. The bronze rests on a molded and ebonized rectangular wooden base, whose central section is embossed and engraved with the same inscriptions that appear on Verrocchio's original monument:
