"Kilim Kuba. Azerbaijan. Caucasus. Early 20th Century. 300 X 160 Cm"
A very beautiful Kuba kilim originating from Azerbaijan. Woven wool on wool in the traditional manner. The piece dates from the very beginning of the 20th century. The quality and fineness of the weave, as well as the extreme regularity in the warp and weft crossings, are truly remarkable. This is a key characteristic of traditional Caucasian weaving. The piece is supple and lightweight. The main motif, repeated in the central field, is that of a stylized eagle. An ultra-graphic and highly decorative piece. Its complex and perfectly organized composition reminds me of a stained-glass window. The colors are very pretty, dynamic, and luminous, conveying a sunny joy. Circa 1920. Perfect condition. Dimensions: 300 x 160 cm. Laurent Beauty of Kilims
