This painting depicts the village of Monnetier-Mornex in the Southern Alps of France. In the foreground on the right, the red roof of a house is visible, followed by a grassy area bordered by a tree-lined path. In the center, several houses or chalets are visible, surrounded by dense vegetation and slender trees. In the background, snow-capped peaks rise above. The slightly cloudy sky diffuses a soft, veiled light, reminiscent of sunrise or sunset. The overall effect is charming, with a lovely palette and beautiful composition.
