"Portraits Of Louis XVI And Marie Antoinette, A Pair Of Late 18th-century Gouache Paintings "
Pair of gouaches, portraits of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. King Louis XVI is depicted in a three-quarter bust portrait based on the official portrait by Joseph Boze and wears the Order of Saint Louis and the Order of the Holy Spirit on his chest. Joseph Boze was a French portrait painter and pastelist. Queen Marie Antoinette is a bust-length version of a portrait painted in 1788 by Madame Elisabeth Vigée Le Brun. The queen is dressed in a blue velvet coat and wears a pouf in her hair adorned with ostrich feathers. Note: These gouaches came to me in their original, complete condition, but due to the dust accumulated under the panes, I had to clean only the panes. This allowed me to observe the perfect condition of the gouaches, protected by their panes, which were slightly bubbly as they should be. The original blue paper has been preserved.
