Frank Will (1900-1951) View Of Paris At Bastille
Artist: Franck Will (1900-1950)
Art Deco painting by Frank Will (1900-1951), signed by the artist in the lower left and located "Paris La Bastille" in the lower right. A beautiful Post-Impressionist composition in mixed media (watercolor, gouache, and wash), depicting the lively area around the July Column surmounted by the bronze statue of the Genius of Liberty. The work is presented in a carved giltwood frame. Dimensions: 64 cm x 54 cm. Frank Will (1900-1950) was a French painter and watercolorist born into a family of artists in the Paris region. He initially studied architecture before dedicating himself entirely to painting, becoming friends and collaborating with the painter Gen Paul. In 1936, he married Victoire Royer and settled in Mantes-la-Jolie. His paintings reflect everyday life in a style reminiscent of the Post-Impressionist School of Paris, depicting subjects and motifs of Parisian life, views of Montmartre, and monumental themes. His work is characterized by the use of pure colors and bold strokes to create graphic and dynamic works that emphasize movement. Frank Will's work has been exhibited in several galleries, including those of Georges Petit, Hector Brame, and Henri Bureau. He has also participated in group exhibitions in Paris and internationally. His works are held in public collections, notably in Meudon (Museum of Art & History), Menton, Versailles, and Saint-Malo.
