Artist: Emile Gallé
Large baluster-shaped vase with a vine motif and a rolled neck, by the master glassmaker Emile Gallé, circa 1900, Art Nouveau period. The decoration, in acid-etched multi-layered glass, features a cameo of vine tendrils, foliage, and berries in shades of brown and maroon against a satin yellow background, tinged with brown towards the neck and base. The contrasting colors create a beautiful luminous effect. The Gallé signature is within the decoration. Very good condition, with a few bubbles and minor wear.
