Cuirassier trooper's cuirass, 1st model (1804-1807). France. First Empire. Polished steel edged with brass studs, pointed breastplate, characteristic of the first model cuirass. Restored leather straps lined with scarlet cloth covered with a series of scalloped brass scales, each ending in a cut brass lock and a heart-shaped leather tab (locks and tabs are original). Fabric replaced. Good condition. With restoration. France. First Empire.
